This Christmas, Give Life.
Below is a video by Chris Seay, the pastor at Ecclesia in Houston and I thought I'd share it with you all. Just something to think about - in my case, as opposed or in addition to thinking about the next gizmo or gadget I'd like to lay my hands on :-) It also is a reminder for me that, as members of the Body of Christ, we are capable of much more than we think are. Even when we think that our smallest effort does not make a difference.
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving if I don't talk to you before then.
Grace & peace,
Deji.

LOL ... I guess getting your hands on a Wii at this point could be said to be an act of divine intervention. As long as you did really need it and will make use of it. :-) One of the points that Chris made when talking about this though is that the purpose of the challenge is not to load anyone up with guilt or for anyone to feel bad about getting stuff for themselves or others, but more of a call to actually think about what we are doing and why we do it. To look at it and wonder if it is actually of any benefit to us or those we do it for/to.
It is interesting how we get caught up in the mayhem that commerce has created around this season. That when we are supposed to be celebrating the the birth of the Prince of Peace, people are shooting each other over PS3s and trampling over each other to get items that will be forgotten about in a month or two.
